Facility - Denver, Colorado
THE VEIN CARE INSTITUTE was designed specifically for the practice of phlebology. All too many "vein" practices are stuffed into a small, unused corner room of a physician's office. And many "vein centers" are part of a large hospital system or private conglomerate who dictate to the physicians how to practice so patients may not always receive the most appropriate care nor can it be assured that they will be treated with the best equipment available. We refused to follow these out-dated models and it shows in our results. Thorough research went into the selection and acquisition of our diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, all state-of-the-art.
Providing Advanced Vein Care and Laser Treatment
For instance, after a review of the medical literature, it became clear to our physicians that there was a substantial difference in post operative pain, bruising and ablation efficacy between lasers of different wavelengths. A new laser with a 1319nm (nanometer) wavelength was a clear standout in this regard. As an endovenous laser, it targets the collagen in the vein wall, producing maximal varicose vein shrinkage with minimal "collateral" effects on other tissues. The other popular (and cheaper) lasers out there target hemoglobin which essentially boils the blood in the vein to produce their effects. Studies show that these endovenous lasers with wavelengths of 810nm and 980nm create tremendous local heat which results in considerably more bruising and post operative pain. With this new information, we abandoned the "old" laser technologies and began using the 1319nm units. Based in Denver, Colorado - The Vein Care Institute is always striving for the safest, most effective technologies to help our patients with their vein disorders.
